02 AI cost & speed optimisation
If your AI features are slow or the bill keeps growing, I find out where the time and money go and fix it. That might mean a smaller model for the easy steps, caching and batching, or not sending the model work it doesn’t need to see. For decisions like classifying, routing or scoring, a System One model such as TypeSafe’s Jev is worth a look. It returns a typed answer with a probability instead of text, and it’s much faster and cheaper than asking a large language model.
